USDT (Tether) is a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar. The same token is issued on several blockchains — Tron, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, TON, Polygon and Arbitrum. These are called networks, and they do not talk to each other: USDT sent on one network can only be received on an address of that same network. Choosing the wrong one is the most common and the most expensive mistake people make with USDT.
In Pakistan most people buy and sell USDT with EasyPaisa, JazzCash or a bank transfer, and TRC20 is the most common network for that. This guide explains when TRC20, BEP20, ERC20 or another network makes sense, and how to exchange USDT for PKR safely.
Short answer: use the network that both your wallet and the receiving side support, check that the address belongs to that network, and pick the direction for that exact network on XChangic.
The 7 USDT networks available on XChangic
- USDT TRC20 (Tron). Addresses start with the letter T. The network fee is paid in TRX (or Tron energy), so your Tron wallet needs some TRX to send. Very widely used for peer-to-peer transfers.
- USDT ERC20 (Ethereum). Addresses start with 0x. The fee is paid in ETH and is usually the highest of these networks when Ethereum is busy.
- USDT BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain). Addresses also start with 0x. The fee is paid in BNB.
- USDT Polygon. 0x addresses; the fee is paid in POL (formerly MATIC).
- USDT Arbitrum. Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer-2 network. 0x addresses; the fee is paid in ETH on Arbitrum.
- USDT SOL (Solana). Solana addresses are long letter-and-number strings without 0x. The fee is paid in SOL.
- USDT TON (The Open Network). TON addresses usually start with UQ or EQ. The fee is paid in TON. Some wallets and exchanges ask for a comment (memo) on TON deposits — always follow the instructions of the receiving side.
The trap: 0x addresses look the same on four networks
ERC20, BEP20, Polygon and Arbitrum all use the same 0x address format. Your wallet will happily accept a BEP20 address while you send on Ethereum — and the money then arrives on a network the receiver may not watch. Before every transfer:
- Check the network name in your wallet, not only the address.
- Make sure the receiver (a wallet, an exchange or an XChangic order) expects USDT on that network.
- Keep enough of the network coin (TRX, ETH, BNB, POL, SOL or TON) to pay the fee.
- For a large amount, send a small test first.
How to choose a network
- Where will the USDT go next? If your exchange account or client only supports TRC20, use TRC20 — converting between networks later costs time and fees.
- What does your wallet support? Many mobile wallets support all of these, some only one or two.
- Fees. Your own wallet charges the network fee when you send. Check it in the wallet before you confirm; Ethereum (ERC20) is usually the most expensive when the network is busy.

FAQ
Can I send USDT TRC20 to a BEP20 or ERC20 address?
No. TRC20 uses Tron addresses (starting with T); BEP20 and ERC20 use 0x addresses. Always send on the network the receiver expects.
Which USDT network is the cheapest?
It depends on the network load at the moment of sending. Check the fee your wallet shows before you confirm. On XChangic the rate for each network is shown on its own direction page.
What if I already sent USDT on the wrong network?
Contact the Live Chat right away with your order number and the transaction hash. Recovery is not always possible, which is why checking the network before sending matters.
Why is there a minimum amount?
Each direction has its own minimum and maximum, shown on the direction page next to the calculator.
Before you pay, read the safety notice. Verification and anti-money-laundering checks follow the AML/KYC policy. If anything is unclear, ask in the Live Chat on this website before you send money.
